A Quick Glimpse Into J13

Hi Friend,

We’re excited to share a short video that gives you a glimpse into what J13 is all about, a community where adults with profound autism and their families finally hear “yes” after years of being told “no”.

What makes J13 different?

  • We welcome individuals others have turned away.
  • We create a true sense of belonging, not just a service.
  • We build a pathway from respite care to a lifelong home and community.
And here’s the most important part: you’ve made this possible. Your support has opened doors, built hope, and created a future that families never thought they’d see.

The Crisis Few Talk About

  • Roughly 25% of people with an autism diagnosis meet the criteria for profound autism, meaning very limited or no spoken language, severe intellectual disabilities, and the need for round-the-clock care and supervision.
  • Families often wait 10+ years for housing options that may never come.
  • Service gaps are staggering: 60% have no regular social opportunities, 59% cannot access autism-trained healthcare providers, and more than half lack life skills training or behavioral support.
  • Over 85% of caregivers of profoundly autistic individuals report experiencing stigma – feeling judged, excluded, or unsupported.
Families are desperate. Services don’t exist. Hope feels out of reach.

This is exactly why J13 exists, to build community, create belonging, and develop lifelong residential solutions that families can count on.

We hear it all the time: “I had no idea.” That’s the gap we’re closing. Most people don’t realize the crisis families are in, or they assume nothing can be done.

That’s where you come in.

Here are a few ways your gift can make an impact:

  • $100 – A Passport to Possibility

  • $250 – Systems, Tools & Technology
Enables 1 month of J13’s technology used to create individualized, comprehensive support plans, turning goals into action and action into independence.
  • $500 – A Bridge to the Community
Covers transportation and staffing for outings to places like Crux Climbing Gym, a local museum, or a day of adventure.
  • $1,000 – Training That Transforms
Provides professional training that equips a staff member to say “yes” when others say “no”.
  • $5,000 – Strong Foundations
Updates major operational systems (accounting, HR, compliance audits) that keep J13 transparent, accountable, and sustainable.
  • $10,000 – A Legacy of “Yes”
Expands the capacity of J13 so we can continue to say “yes” to families who have been told “no” everywhere else.
Every gift – at every level – fuels J13’s mission: building a community where adults with profound autism and their families are seen, supported, and celebrated for life.

With gratitude,
The J13 Team
